robotctl health

robotctl health
robotctl health --json
Hardware and software in one report. That is deliberate: health is one question, so it is one command, rather than making you poll seven daemons.
It gates a script directly
Non-zero exit when the robot is unhealthy or unreachable:
robotctl health && ./my-experiment.sh
A trade-off worth understanding
A hot motor or a pinned component is reported, but does not affect the exit code.
The official wording is “reported, not judged” — those are information, not a verdict. A servo running warm does not mean the robot is unusable, so it should not stop a script.
The units block
On a dev board this is the most valuable part: one line per daemon naming the release its process was launched from, with a warning when that disagrees with what is installed.
build unknown (old) means that daemon predates the release which taught it to answer — restart it and it will.
